Vivian: Dealing with a chronic illness like hepatitis C can be overwhelming at times. For some people it gets tough, and they consider ending their lives. Have you ever felt suicidal, or do you feel suicidal now?

William: I feel tired and drained at times. I guess it's the hepatitis C. At least that's what I think. Other people don't understand, they can't believe I can't do things...sometimes I wonder if it's all worth it.

Vivian: It's hard when people don't see a physical problem. When you say it's not worth it, do you mean living?

William: Well, once I wondered if I would be better off dead. That way, I wouldn't have all the hassles and worries.
