BDI Score: TBD
BDI Question 9: TBD

Vivian: Have you ever been prescribed medication to treat depression or anxiety?

William: No, I don't like taking pills.

Vivian: Okay. What about your family? Does anyone in your family have a mental illness or take medicine for emotional problems?

William: My mother was diagnosed with depression recently, but I don't know if she's taking medication. I think maybe she's always been depressed.

Vivian: All right, now let's talk about your mood recently. Over the past few months, how would you describe your mood on most days?

William: Sometimes I feel a little tired or discouraged...

Vivian: For instance, are you generally in good spirits, or do you feel "down" more than "up"?

William: I'd say I am usually feeling more upbeat than really down. My wife and kids are still putting up with me! Sometimes I worry about the hep C of course.
