BDI Question 9: TBD

Vivian: Hello again, Sonia. I know we've discussed this before, but it's important that you know there is a chance that you can develop depression during your treatment. I understand your choice not to take medications. However, there are other things you can do to protect yourself from depression. I have a list of things that do not require medication or seeing a mental health professional. These things will help you manage your risk of depression and should help you feel better overall.

Sonia: This sounds better. Tell me what I can do.

Vivian: Here is a Patient Self-Help Guide handout. Healthy eating, exercise, and good sleep hygiene are very helpful when your body is going through anything tough. I think you've got the attitude and strength of mind to commit to these things.

Sonia: Thank you, Vivian, these sound like reasonable things that will be fun to do.
