Sonia: All right, though I am getting more tired. It's getting really hard to get my work done.

Vivian: I am sorry to hear that. Fatigue during hepatitis C therapy is common and can be due to a number of causes, but it is often associated with depression. From the BDI questionnaire, I can see that you might be feeling a little more depressed. On your last visit, your score increased from 7 to 9. This time, it has increased to 11. How has your mood been?

Sonia: I'm not really sad. I am just so tired and I get discouraged sometimes. I can't really garden...I'm just too tired...there are still several rose bushes I haven't planted. Work has been hard too.

Vivian: That can be really frustrating. Have you joined a support group, or can one of your family members come and help you?

Sonia: No. I already told you that I really don't want to join one of those group things. My brother lives far away with three young children. My sister lives alone, but says she just can't come right now.
