Sonia needs help from a mental health professional. She is obviously at high risk for committing suicide, and she has a bottle of Tylenol that she thinks about taking. Since Sonia is also geographically isolated and has no social support, she definitely has a plan, means, and opportunity.

Fortunately, I have a plan that determines what I should do in this situation. I first ask Sonia for the Tylenol bottle so that I can throw it away. Because she wants treatment, I walk her to mental health and talk with the urgent care mental health clinician. I make sure that she is not alone until I get her to a safe room in the mental health area.
