Vivian: Hey, there, Sonia. How are you today?

Sonia: Not well at all.

Vivian: What do you mean?

Sonia: I can't garden, I've completely stopped, and I don't go to work because I am constantly depressed and weepy and distraught and I can't concentrate.

Vivian: I can see that you are upset. Have you talked to any friends or family lately?

Sonia: No! I don't want to and I haven't in a few weeks. I just feel so bad.

Vivian: Okay, Sonia, we can manage this. I just need to ask you more questions to understand exactly how you are feeling.

Sonia: What is there to understand? I feel bad...depressed. I keep thinking about the Tylenol in my bathroom...

Vivian: Are you planning to take it?

Sonia: It would be easy to just take the whole bottle, but I don't know if I could go through with it. I am overwhelmed and confused. There is no one to help me. My brother and sister are so far away...and friends don't really understand.
