BDI Score: 9
BDI Question 9: 0

Vivian: I want to give you some helpful pamphlets that you can take home with you. The first one is the Patient Self-Help Guide handout. It reviews things you can do without taking medicine that might help you cope with some of the symptoms of interferon therapy, such asImage of William. getting regular exercise and a good night's rest, joining a self-help group, and eating a healthy diet.

William: Great.

Vivian: Most importantly, we need to keep in close contact with each other. If you find yourself feeling down or upset often, please call the office. Also, if you experience a lot of pain or insomnia, call us and we can help you with that.

William: Okay, I will. Listen, I think I would like to join a self-help group. Can you help me find one?

Vivian: Yes, we have a list in the front office. We will give you one before you leave. Also, I want you to take this other handout, Medications for Depression. Even though you don't want to take medication now, you might want to consider it in the future. It will help to have some more information.

William: Well, all right, I'll read it.

Vivian: Great. You have now completed the pre-treatment evaluation and are ready to begin interferon therapy. Just remember to stay in touch, and feel free to call us with any concerns or problems you may have.
