Field Assignment
Here's something you should begin thinking about. When you are back in your own clinic, begin working on the following field assignments:

•  Identify mental health professionals and begin building a collaborative partnership.

•  Develop an emergency referral plan for patients who need immediate mental health treatment.

While this assignment is optional for achieving course credit, it is something you should seriously consider completing. It's considered best practice to have a plan in place for handling emergency situations and to have support when you find yourself unable to treat a difficult, but non-emergency situation. If you wait until the last minute, you might find yourself in a stressful, and perhaps life-threatening, situation with no support.
