To help you conduct interviews effectively, I have a printable handout, the Depression Assessment Checklist, which you can use during the course and take back to your clinical practice.

When you click ahead, you will notice that the handout has the skill elements you should use while interviewing patients, as well as several depression risk factors you should ask the patient about. As I interview the first patient, you will answer questions about which elements I am demonstrating and see which risk factors I have noted.
