Even though we were ready to prescribe antidepressant medication for William, I chose not to.

Click on the most appropriate reason why:

A) William's wishes and concerns, even if they may not seem to be in his best interest, have to be considered. Also, he does not appear to be at risk for harming himself, so it is acceptable to wait.

B) We can't force him to take medication.

Even though William chose not to undergo pharmacological therapy at this time, there are other ways we can support him. In the next section, you will learn about other ways you can help patients manage depression while undergoing hepatitis C therapy.
