Great job on shadowing your first hepatitis C patient. William is doing very well. Thanks to our management of his depression, he successfully finished his interferon treatment and is an end-of-treatment responder.

He is still taking 20 mg of citalopram, is experiencing no depressive symptoms, and has a BDI score of 4.

Now I am going to begin tapering him off of the citalopram over the course of 1 week. Of course, I will instruct him to call if depressive symptoms return.
